Across South Africa, talented young women have the ambition and ability to build meaningful careers in technology. But ambition alone does not always create access to education, professional networks or the first opportunity to gain experience.
FlexiGrowth is being built to help bridge that gap.
By bringing together students, professionals and organisations, we want to create practical pathways from ambition to education, from education to experience, and from experience to a career in technology.
I grew up in South Africa and went on to build my career in engineering and technology. Along that journey, I experienced first-hand how much access matters, and how different that access can be for women.
Talent and ambition are important, but they are not always enough. The right education, someone willing to guide you, a professional network, or simply being given that first opportunity can change the direction of a career.
FlexiGrowth is personal to me because I want to help make those opportunities more accessible to the women coming after me. Not by defining their ambitions for them, but by helping create the pathways, connections and opportunities that allow them to pursue their own.
If we can make even one of those doors easier to open for the next generation, this will be worth building.
